PacMan vs. Hitman: The Calm Before The Storm
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009The East and the West will finally clash on Saturday. Expect an all-out brawl. Who will come out victorious? Will the PacMan reign supreme? Will the Hitman become the new pound-4-pound king?
Thank goodness these two are in their best behavior. The trainers, on the other hand, are at each other’s throats…
Kung Fu Panda Marathon
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009I would normally just borrow DVDs from the library rather than buy them. But I cannot pass up Kung Fu Panda on sale at Target for $5.50 ( … one week later, Target reduced the price further to $4.75… Doh! ). We must have watched the movie six or seven times over the weekend.
When it comes to animation, PIXAR is tops. But in IMO, this DreamWorks masterpiece of the fat panda is up there in quality. The story was not ground-breaking, but it was all-out fun. The comedic value is outstanding.
Some quotes from the movie:
“There is no charge for awesomeness. Or attractiveness.” - Dragon Warrior in Po’s dream.
“Actually, when I was young and crazy, I dreamed of running away and learning how to make tofu.” - Mr. Ping, Po’s foster father, reminiscing of what could have been, but digresses afterwards for he is the noodle man.
“Quit, don’t quit. Noodles, don’t noodles. You are too concerned with what was, and what will be. There is a saying. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.” - Master Oogway advising a dejected Po.
“The true path to victory is to find your opponent’s weakness, and make him suffer for it!” - Master Shifu, while beating up Po.
“But a real warrior never quits! Don’t worry, Master, I will never quit!” - Po, while getting beaten to a pulp by Master Shifu.
