Last year’s World Champion Sylvain “Gunther Love” Quimene of France gave once again a stunning performance. His fellow countrywoman Soraya “Eva Gina Runner” Garlenq scored second with her sparkling and tight one-minute show. The third place was taken over by retiring Canadian champion Cole “Johnny Utah” Manson.

The World Champion won an electric guitar handcrafted by Matti Nevalainen of Flying Finn guitars. The top three were also awarded with Golla products. The top ten go home packing plexiglass guitars from Oulun Kopiokeskus in their Air Guitar cases.

Romeo Dance Cheetah of the United States was 11th place.

Matt Cornelison, a.k.a. Romeo Dance Cheetah, besting his fellow air guitarists with a score of 17.7 out of 18. Contest judge and 2008 Air Guitar World Champion Craig “Hot Lixx Hulahan” Billmeier quoted, “Ushering in a new breed, Romeo Dance Cheetah is the new face of U.S. Air Guitar. Come see him if you wanna see what we’re all about.”

His “airness” will represent the U.S. in the 2010 Air Guitar World Championship in Oulu, Finland on August 27.
